5th Saffron Walden Scouts

The 5th Saffron Walden Scouts are the Free Churches scout group in Saffron Walden. Started by the Baptist, Methodist and URC churches over 50 years ago the group is still going strong, and is the largest scout group in Saffron Walden. The scout section delivers a programme of activities to around 40 young people between 10 and 14 years old. It meets at the Baptist Church on Friday evenings.

Regular activities include a summer camp to Wales, weekends walking in Norfolk, archery, campfire cooking and a huge range of other activities. The scouts attend parade services at the Baptist Church and held a Gang Show which raised several hundred pounds for the Shelter Christmas appeal.
