WHO ARE WE?
 The Boys' Brigade is a youth organisation of the Christian Church and seeks to present the Christian message in a way that is relevant to Boys. The 1st Saffron Walden Boys' Brigade Company is part of Saffron Walden Baptist Church. The Boys' Brigade is the oldest uniformed youth organisation in the world, being formed in 1883. Our own Company was started in 1980.

MEMBERSHIP
There are four categories of membership:

Anchor Boys: 6th Birthday until 9th Birthday
Junior Section: 8th Birthday until 12th Birthday
Company Section: 11th Birthday until 16th Birthday
Seniors: 15th Birthday until end of session attaining 18th Birthday
As you can see there is an overlap in ages between sections.

WHAT DO WE DO?
The activities the boys take part in will vary according to their age group. These may include: team games, crafts, stories and drama (for the younger boys); cooking, music, first aid, band, camping and climbing (for the older boys). Working for badges is a feature of all sections, culminating in the Queen's Badge and/or the Duke of Edinburgh's awards.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY
The B.B. is very much a part of our local Church family at the Baptist Church. Individuals at the Church support us financially from time to time whilst others assist us in our activities and classes. Some members of our Church pray for individual boys and officers.

Mid-week meetings
All meetings are on Tuesday evening and take place at the Baptist Church Halls, Audley Road.
Anchor Boys: 6:30pm - 7:45pm

Junior Section: 6:30pm - 7:45pm

Company Section: 7:45pm - 9:30pm

Seniors: 7:45pm -10:00pm

Band practice Thursday 7:30 - 8:30
